Welcome to Lead Storyteller, where leadership meets inspiration and every narrative has the power to transform. My name is Glen, and I am proud to serve as a Superintendent. With over a decade of experience in educational leadership, I am passionate about guiding schools, boards, and communities toward excellence through storytelling and servant leadership.
Currently, I am pursuing my Doctorate in Transformative Leadership at Angelo State University, where I continue to expand my knowledge and refine my leadership philosophy. My work extends beyond the district level, as I conduct school board trainings and present at conferences for various professional organizations. These engagements allow me to share practical strategies for transformational leadership, effective communication, and fostering stronger school board relations.
I am a husband to my incredible wife, Kelsea, and a proud father to our two wonderful children, Whitten and Channing. Family is at the heart of everything I do, and it serves as a daily reminder of why educational leadership matters so deeply.
At Lead Storyteller, you’ll find blog posts that inspire, challenge, and equip educational leaders to tell better stories within their organizations. My goal is to help leaders shape the narrative of their schools, boards, and communities—because if we don’t control the story, someone else will.Thank you for visiting. Whether you’re here to read, reflect, or connect, I hope you leave inspired to write your own story of leadership and growth.

The Lead Storyteller
Schools are like toilets. While everyone has used a toilet, not everyone is qualified to be a plumber. Similarly, just because most people have attended school doesn’t mean they truly understand how it should operate. This isn’t a critique of those who think they know how schools should run or a condemnation of negativity toward schools. Instead, it’s an invitation to do the opposite: to foster relationships with the community, discover what drives them, and leverage that understanding to shape our story. Building meaningful relationships is the most influential thing we can do as leaders (Czyz, 2019). This reflection explores why it’s essential for us to be the lead storytellers in our schools—ensuring our communities truly understand what’s happening. If we don’t take charge of the narrative, someone else will—and the story they tell might not be the story we want told.
